Apuis de ua besita a la Tierra de Miranda, Jo\u00e3o de Deus Pinheiro, l Menistro de l\u2019Eiduca\u00e7on desse tiempo, aceitou l pedido de la C\u00e1mara i an 1986 ampe\u00e7ou la scola de mirand\u00e9s para l quinto anho de l ciclo.<\/header>\r\n<div class=\"textbox__content\">\r\n\r\nIn 1985, the Council of Miranda, following the pioneering ideas of J\u00falio Meirinhos, made an official request to the Ministry of Education to run an experiment: teaching the first Mirandese course for Preparatory School (10 to 12 year olds), optional for the students and outside of the school curriculum. The Mirandese course grew in popularity over the following years, and every school year there were more and more students who chose to sign up. What started as an experiment attracted national attention and even the President of the Republic Mario Soares visited the school and sat at a lesson.
