In this section you will: 

• be able to listen to how the Latgalian language sounds, and to get an example of how the “Waze” application explains you the way in Latgalian;
• get to know how many people use Latgalian and where;
• get the chance to test yourself – which words do you know or understand in Latgalian, and which are typical Latgalian names and nicknames;
• be offered a cool video about the history of Latgale and the Latgalian language.

Please note: The overview information on Latgalian is in Latgalian and English. However, some of the examples and exercises for teaching involve language examples in Latgalian. It does not always make sense to provide translations, for example in the case of poems. In these cases, the English version of this book is therefore more for orientation about the types of exercises, so that teachers from other regions might get ideas about how to create exercises for their own language situations.
